WikeezWikeez, is a new Lebanon-based startup, focusing on user generated content around entertainment topics, which was founded by Kuv Capital with a seed investment of US$250,000.

Wikeez aims to allow people to publish and exchange on their favorite subjects centered on entertainment topics (tv shows, movies, celebrities, music and sports).

Each topic is fragmented into 3 tiers:

  • Top Stories: Information on the subject; latest news, Bio,…
  • Blog Stories: content produced by Wikeez members
  • Micro Stories: reactions shared by Wikeez members

Wikeez will also enable people to create their own blogs, fan clubs, get the latest news centered on their passions, as well as socialize with other fans.

The money given to this new startup called Wikeez should be considered! They are stealing content in FULL (TEXT and photos) from other popular well known blogs and sites on the net like Waleg.com!
This is not a serious business even if it is the fault of one of their employees, someone should check the authenticity of articles before they get published to public!

You are in fact developing an interesting point here: How to consider competition?

I always ask the companies we invest in to respect its competitors, tough but fair competition is always a sign of a mature market. it seems we haven’t reach that point yet.

Back to your point, I browsed your website, are you pretending you own the rights of pictures you are publishing on your site (oscars, britney spears and so on)? or did you “take”them from other places (google images?) ?

Any way, any complain worth being take care of, so I will forward your comment to the wikeez CEO and her team of 10 journalists producing content everyday.
and if it’s the case, it will be corrected.

Our photos are licensed and we pay for them from different photos agencies.
As for photos related to the Arab world celebs, we usually have them from different PR agencies and customized them to our need…
Publishing the the same modified photos is really not a good way, its just stealing efforts.
As for our content, we are in business since 2004 and we didn’t copy a single article as wikeez did and without even sourcing!

    Stealing is NOT competition!

Thank you for taking the time to read my comment and reply, i appreciate it.
