BarCamp Algeria, Med&Com, Algiers, September 26th ’09

BarCamp Alger 3Algiers will soon be witnessing the 3rd edition of BarCamp Algeria that will be held at Med&Com headquarters (1, Rue des cousins Gouraya. 16330 Birkhadem, Alger) on Saturday, September 26th 2009 at 13:00.

The BarCamp Alger is an initiative organized by a group of passionate technology players eager to make their contributions to the development of the ICT sector in Algeria.

BarCamp is open to all Algerian entrepreneurs, workers, and geeks to share, collaborate, discuss, exchange offer, in a friendly yet organized environment.

Under the slogan “Together, I am Stronger“, the working group will be putting forward the skills and expertise of its members and contributes through a collaborative study of real projects, to provide solutions and recommendations which will define the objectives of the community, and draw the first outlines of the an ICT association in Algeria.

Some of the topics that some of the participants will be talking about are:

  • The digital divide and the role of the web in the daily Algerian life.
  • User interface design.
  • New web professions (Project Manager, Integrator, Editor.) and their places in the Algerian company.
  • Definition and preparation of an ICT observatory.
  • Future of business applications in Algeria (both web and desktop) (Potential and prospects in the economic and legal context.)
  • RIA / RDA (Rich Internet / Desktop Applications) potential in different markets (B2B, B2C and consumer).

BarCamp Tunisie, Al Ghazela Technology Park, May 9th 2009

BarCamp TunisieTunisia will be soon be getting its first BarCamp event, that will be held at the Al Ghazela Technology Park (Hannibal Hall) on May 9th 2009 starting at 9:00 AM.

BarCamp is an ad-hoc gathering, born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. These events are quite intense with discussions, demos, and interaction from attendees.

A number of Tunisian entrepreneurs will be at the event talking about their startups and demoing their products and services, then opening a discussion about them with the attendees.

The startups that are confirmed to be demoing at the first Tunisian BarCamp so far are the following:

  • Wezign: A Tunisian web & graphic design agency. (Demo by: Kais Ben Sedrine)

BarCamp UAE Un-Conference, Dubai Internet City, May 9th 2009

BarCampAfter the DemoCamps, Tweetups, and Twestival; Dubai will soon be witnessing another interesting event: BarCamp UAE.

BarCamp is an ad-hoc gathering, born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. These events are quite intense with discussions, demos, and interaction from attendees.

The unconference will be taking place on May 9th 2009 in Dubai Internet City’s Building #3 (Thuraya Conference Hall.)

The concept lies on the basis that everyone is able to teach something and learn something in return, so it is open for all participants to talk, share, discuss, debate, enquire and learn.

Some of the topics that some of the participants will be talking about are: Why it’s the best time to build a great enterprise; Sustainability; Advertising, digital media, social media and more; Web standards; How to build a cohesive presentation; Media in the Middle East; Think tooling your life; and so much more, with people from different background, covering different topics and subjects.
